Hello everyone,
For the Documentary Practice and Emerging Media course, we will be using different tools and apps that might be helpful for your assignments and exercises. Here is a first little guide.
1.- Premiere Pro Clip for iPhone and Android
This is an editing app that we will be using during the semester. You can find it on Appstore and Playstore.

To use it we recommend you to sign-in with your New School´s Adobe Creator ID. This way, you will access to additional features, and also have your projects backed on your Adobe Cloud. If you haven’t set up your Adobe Creator Account yet, here is a guide of how to do it.

Once you set up your account, you can download Premiere Pro Clip to your smartphone. Here is a quick tutorial about how you can use the app.
2.- Shoot video with your cell phone
For those of you who don’t have experience in video production, here are quick tutorials about how to use and set up your cellphone correctly.
iPhone:
For those who have an Android, the best free app for video shooting is called Open Camera. Here is a tutorial about how to use it.
Also, you can watch this tutorial that covers some basic video production standards and errors.
3.- Cellphone Equipment
There is an Equipment Center for students located at 55 W 13th St, New York, NY 10011 (Mannes School of Music, 9th Floor). Here, you can find tripods and audio gear for cell phones. If you want to reserve equipement for your productions, we recommend to do it 24 hours in advance.
